Repairing the Road to Bayonnais

There were many more than two hundred people there to work. They widened the road into the hillside in places and made repairs as best as could be done with hand tools. The road is again passable, or rather more passable than it has been in years. So, it was a great day for the people of the countryside! It rained a lot in mid-afternoon at the school, but Savane Ronde was its normal dry self, fortunately for the work and the workers. Two pictures below show the type of work that was done.

There is no government help available for this type of thing. It shows the value of the leadership and power that a good organization like OFCB Ministries can bring to bear on a community problem. There are many ways to help God's children!

As an example of the kind of people who came out, in a picture below there are 3 sisters. When Actionnel saw them outside the door, he stopped eating his very late lunch, got them to come in and got Rosena to get a little more left in the pot also, and some bread and peanut butter and a soda. The story is, they live way up the mountains behind our building, much much much further up than his parents live. Their mama goes back & forth to L'Estere's market (more than 15 miles), going through Savane Ronde, and selling in the local market. So the girls went to provide their family's contribution of labor to fixing the road.

Widening the Road

"So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work." (Nehemiah 4:6)
