The Gaston Gazette has graciously wrote up an article about the work in Haiti and specifically about the hunger present there. We very much appreciate their writing and printing the article and we say thank you to Toby Eddings for editing it. There are some errors in the article that I want to correct:
Our church, Christ Fellowship
Community Church, is no longer located in Ranlo. The fire December 17, 2006
took care of that. We are now located in a beautiful duplex office complex
at 2240 N. New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054. (We are located directly across
from Food Lion on N. New Hope.)
They misspelled my name.
Instead of "Bob Barten", it should be Bob Bodenhamer.
Our gifts to the work in Haiti
are not completely accurately either. In 2006 we gave 50% of our total
offerings to the work in Haiti. And, last year, 2007, we gave 37%. With the
additional cost in rent, we have had to cut our total gifts to the mission
work but we are still grateful for how our people sacrifice for this work.
At the end of the article you will read the name "Jennifer Oates" of "Food for the Poor". Jennifer is not a part of our ministry at Christ Fellowship Community Church though we appreciate her work very much.
With the above corrections in mind, please read the complete article below:
