Greetings to everyone from Bayonnais, Haiti.
We are so disappointed to announce that the concrete for the second floor of the
new school building is not being poured for the fact that the rebar men are
still not quite ready yet. Even though, we have put lots of pressure on them. We
feel terribly sad about that, but it is not their fault...But our hope is to
send you as many pictures as we on this coming Friday during all day. Which
means that we should not postpone this pouring concrete for a third time. For
this concrete,120 men have been hired to get the job done that day. There will
be no school and 100's of voluntaries will be around also, including the school
children that have been officially invited to help out. It seems that we are in
good shape now.
Yes, the crusade was over last night. There were 24 people that got baptized on Saturday morning in a pool near to Jesula and Yvolene-Dasemise's house, the river of Bayonnais. All the Bayonnais valley was covered the crusade for those 8 nights through a very strong sound system that Association of Evangelical Leaders of High Bayonnais (ALEHB) has rented for $ 5,150.00 HT or $ 650.00 US. At least, 45 people have accepted Christ during that week. Under the supervision of Amilor Fils-Aime, about 120 young people from the church gathered together for a camp and a retreat from Wednesday through yesterday afternoon. A nice meal with soft drinks were served on Saturday to the people coming to the crusade. It was very much wonderful.
On that saturday,153 workers got paid for their 12 days of work on fixing the road in Bayonnais. Much rice has been given out again and at leat 1,071 people are having food in their homes now. We paid to the people last Saturday, the 11th of April, 16,018.75 lbs of rice. I am telling you all, it is not easy to imagine the happiness on the face of those going to have food on their tables for their families. There are no teams working this week. We are evaluating what has been accomplished and to for new teams with new people next weeks to come.
Thanks a lot to everyone who has been on our side to make all of these wonderful things happened in Bayonnais for God's children. We are so humble and grateful to you all....To God be the glory.
