December 19, 2006
Dear Brothers and Sisters
in the Lord,
Merry Christmas 2006 and best wishes for the year 2007 – faithfulness,
prosperity, longevity, success and much more for the year 2007. This is from
Organization de la Force Chretienne de Bayonnais (OFCB Ministries) to each one
of you, faithful partners and supporters. Through God’s grace, your continuing
financial supports, OFCB Ministries is moving forward toward accomplishing God’s
vision for his children in the community of Bayonnais, Haiti. However, while
writing this, we are rejoicing and being covered with sorrow at the same time.
We are rejoicing when we
know that for this year God has sent to our way 1,528 children (big
headache) to teach and to preach to or to evangelize.
We are rejoicing for 8
bunk beds that Tom Harman with his group from light of Christ United
Methodist Church made for the Ministry this past November. Now we can
accommodate 16 missionaries easily.
We are rejoicing for
$11,250.41 that First Baptist Church in Huntersville, NC, has given to
feed the children at the school. What a blessing associated with
encouragement. Thanks a lot FCB in Huntersville.
We are rejoicing for
$1,400.00 to Beulah Land Baptist Church in Bessemer City, NC gave for
the purchase of three stoves and three propane tanks to put in the
new kitchen. Rev. Mike Criswell is the pastor of Beulah Land and special
thanks goes to him for giving me the opportunity to speak at his church.
This was my first time at Beulah Land. And, thanks to Rev. Bob Bodenhamer,
his wife, Linda, and Christ Fellowship Community Church in Gastonia, NC. New
Kitchen, new stoves and lots of rice, beans cooking oil and so forth.
We are rejoicing for in
spite of all, we are not forgotten. God has sent his ravens to us with
bread, cheese and meat at the right time for the right cause. Praise god
for Samuel Wesmine, not only has he been through with his medical studies at
University Quisqueya, but the little Samantha Marie-perle Mondelus, their
first daughter- child has been born. Amilor and Claudine have had their
first son- child born with no difficulties; his name is Lordy-One Fils-Aimé.
We are rejoicing for the 22 College students that are moving forward in their studies. We are rejoicing before the Lord for Mr. David Nichols, Dr Harold Hope and Mr. Doug Wilson who came down here for a site inspection for Self Development of the people (SDOP) of Presbytery and surely $20,000.00 us will be donated shortly to promote more businesses in the community of Bayonnais.
Yet, we are after all
suffering. We are suffering emotionally, psychologically and physically when we
understand that nothing is being done to stop crimes and kidnappings in
Port-Au-Prince particularly. It is frustrating when you told that schools have
closed their doors in PAP because school’s children have targeted the most. At
least 30 were kidnapped in 2 days. It seems that kidnapping might become a legal
business in the country. For they are now talking about special discounts for
this season. University Quisqueya, where the majority of our college students go
has closed its door because the dean of the school was asked to give names and
addresses for 30 students. It is sad and frustrating when we know that every
thing is centered in PAP but people from other cities can not go into PAP to do
businesses. The worst part of it was that a Senator got kidnapped on the night
of Friday 15th of December 2006. Schools in PAP are closed for when? Now, the
kidnapping is being spread in the other cities in the country. Saint-Marc, Cange,
Cap-Haitian and so forth.
More prayers are required for Haiti and Bayonnais.
